Tom Deller, 24, came to plumbing after leaving Kingsdown School intent on a different career. Tom studied for an NVQ in IT and maths after his GCSEs, did well and got a good job in Reading.
But life in an office didn't feel right for him and a chance conversation led to a week's work experience with a plumbing company, which changed everything.
Tom stayed on as a plumber's mate, learning valuable skills during his first year and the following September joined an apprenticeship, staying with the same firm for the next four years.
Tom achieved NVQ 2 and 3 advanced level and started to work on his own at evenings and weekends to build his own client base. As soon as he achieved his registration with Corgi, Tom was able to go it alone and has been busy ever since. His company, Eclipse Plumbing & Heating, has been so successful Tom has been able to make the ultimate step in giving something back, he nows employs an apprentice of his own who is also training with Swindon College.
Although on site is obviously where Tom learned most of his skills, he says that through the apprenticeship training he learnt the valuable theory and also gained the qualifications today's industry demands.
Tom and his apprentice provide a high quality, no nonsense plumbing service which is illustrated by the customer testimonials below:

"We have had Tom Deller (Eclipse Plumbing & Heating) at our House on Various Occasions. At all times he has been prompt, courteous, polite, efficient, tidy (leaving no mess behind for us to clear up) and explained upfront all the work he was to undertake and the reasons for doing so. He has been friendly yet professional throughout all his visits to our house.
As such we would have no hesitation in recommending Tom to anyone that needs an honest and reliable plumber. Tradesmen of this calibre are few and far between and I can confidently state that whatever you ask of Tom, it will be done well and at a very sensible price."
